Tornado Road Cycling Club

The Tornado's had a good weekend of activity!

Emma and I attacked the 33 mile Autism Wessex ride on Sunday. We cycled with two others, one who was new to cycling and kept up really well on his mountain bike. We averaged 14.8 mph and completed the ride in 2 hours 18 minutes. Very happy with my 1st event and also the fact that cycling to and from the event boosted up my miles to 43.3 miles. That's the furthest I have cycled so far! Just need to sort out my nutrition. A roast dinner was NOT the best recovery food!

Richard, Ian and Edward tackled the 60 mile route. They averaged 18.6 mph with a great time of 3 hours 12 minutes.

John cycled with one of the event organisers and acted as the sweepers, averaging 17 mph.

Attacking the Wildcat Sportive, Adrian tackled the 80 mile route. He got the gold he was chasing with a very respectable 5 hours 9 minutes.

The day was beautiful, although in some places the headwind was a challenge. I think everyone will agree we will be looking forward to the next events.
