I trust you are all well, and I expect many of you will be busy with Christmas preparations. The year really does seem to have whizzed by!
Many of you know already I’m not very switched on the all things gadget, hence the newsletter not being sent out in the last few months. I have been busy upgrading my website, and email addresses, as well as attending a couple of courses. I am happy to say the website is all up and running now and you can also follow me on Twitter and Facebook. Links to these are below. The accounts are linked to the blog page on my website, so if you think you have missed an update, please check one of these out. Of course you are always welcome to leave feedback and if you have a charity event or anything you would like to share I would be happy to help.
So what courses have I been on? Well I am currently studying Sports Massage Level 4, which means I will be qualified to treat elite athletes. I am 3 weeks into this course at the moment which I will complete in June. I am required to attend 50 hours of events and massage. The first is on Sunday 25th November at Kings Park Athletic Stadium for the Boscombe 10K run, in aid of the wonderful Jigsaw Appeal. If any of you require a team of therapists at an event please let me know. This course is going really well and at some point I will also be looking for case studies, so if you feel you have an injury or indeed any muscular problem please get in touch. I will be offering discounted treatments to all case studies.
Since leaving my flying career behind in August it has become necessary to obtain my First Aid at work qualification. During my flying career I was required to pass an enhanced First Aid, but now that has gone I have undertaken this course so I am now fully qualified.
In October I attended a Kinesiology Taping course. I’m sure many of you saw the wonderful athletes this summer at the Olympics wearing all sorts of colour tape. So what does it do? It involves no surgery or medicines, so has almost no side effects, and every one of all ages can benefit. It works by lifting the skin, increasing circulation, improving metabolism and pain relief. It increases range of motion and aids proprioception, normalizes alignment for improved performance. It supports and stretches soft tissue, helping to speed up the healing process and prevent injury. I have taped a number of clients since the course and the results have so far been encouraging.
Of course as many of you know I like to be busy, so I have decided to create a wonderful offer between now and Christmas.
